Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a Production / Manufacturing Technician V to lead the production floor, oversee daily operations, and drive complex hardware builds. You will mentor technicians, coordinate with engineering and quality teams, and ensure compliance with AS9100, ISO 9001, and ITAR standards.

The role requires 8–10+ years in high-precision manufacturing, strong assembly skills, and proven leadership. It is an onsite, 2nd shift position with benefits including medical, dental, and 401K

Qualifications

• 8–10+ years in high-precision manufacturing, prototyping, or system integration.
• Strong expertise in mechanical, electrical, and/or optical assembly.
• Proven experience leading teams and coordinating complex production efforts.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
• Experience with ERP systems and quality assurance processes.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to balance hands-on technical work with leadership responsibilities.
• Effective communication skills across technical and non-technical teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily production activities, assign work, and track progress to ensure on-time delivery and performance standards.
• Own and execute complex and first-article builds, serving as the technical lead for mission-critical hardware.
• Mentor and train technicians (Levels I–IV), providing hands‑on guidance and technical oversight.
• Act as the primary liaison between production, engineering, program management, and quality teams.
• Troubleshoot technical and process issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
• Develop, refine, and standardize assembly processes, workflows, and documentation.
• Ensure all builds meet AS9100, ISO 9001, and ITAR compliance requirements, including proper documentation and traceability.
• Support production planning by providing input on materials, equipment, and scheduling needs.
• Participate in customer support activities, including demos, installations, and field troubleshooting when needed.
