Job Description Summary

Manufacturing is key to our work at GE Aerospace. Coordinate and expedite the flow of materials (from suppliers and within departments) according to production schedules. Plan and schedule material and production needs. Responsible for departmental operations planning and execution or focused on executing professional activities within a technical discipline. Functions with some autonomy but guided by established policies or review of end results.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities:

  1. Manage master planning, material processes, and systems; prepare and update production schedules and purchasing needs. Ensure operational alignment with production plans and KPIs. Optimize inventory and process improvements.
  2. Includes direct people management responsibilities, including staffing and performance development. Utilizes in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline, analytical thinking, and technical experience to execute policy and strategy.
  3. Has knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; aware of the competition and factors that differentiate them in the market.
  4. Uses judgment and has the ability to propose different solutions outside set parameters to address complex manufacturing processes with technical variety and interdependent production cycles. Applies technical experience and analytical thinking, using multiple internal and limited external sources to make decisions.
  5. Acts as a resource for less experienced colleagues. May lead small projects with low risks and resource requirements. Explains information and develops skills to bring team members to consensus. Conveys performance expectations and may handle sensitive issues.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and 3+ years of production control experience, or a minimum high school diploma/GED with 4+ years of production control experience.

Desired Characteristics:

  • Ability to hold external suppliers and customers accountable and influence their behavior.
  • Proven knowledge of LEAN principles and ability to lead initiatives.
  • Experience coordinating multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Effective problem identification and resolution skills.
  • Proven analytical and organizational abilities.
