Job Description Summary

Managing and improving the quality of materials and components supplied to the company. This includes working closely with suppliers to ensure compliance with quality standards, conducting audits, and implementing corrective actions when necessary. Develop and maintain systems, rules, and processes to ensure fulfillment of internal and external requirements. Ensures that projects and products are capable and will meet specified standards.

Roles and Responsibilities

Ownership of quality assurance and control for assigned supply chain, customer and products/process areas:
  • Supplier evaluation based on their quality systems, capabilities, and performance. Also, participate in supplier selection processes and provide recommendations.
  • Quality assurance to develop and implement supplier quality assurance processes and procedures. Ensure suppliers comply with company quality standards and regulatory requirements including engineering drawings, work instructions and other technical documents. Review technical documentation with a view to Quality and Compliance requirements and act as approval authority
  • Audits and assessments of supplier facilities and processes. Identify areas for improvement and work with suppliers to implement corrective actions.
  • Problem resolution, investigate and resolve quality issues related to supplier materials and components. Collaborate with suppliers to identify root causes and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Performance monitoring supplier performance through key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics. Provide regular reports on supplier quality performance to management.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives with suppliers to enhance quality and reduce costs. Implement lean manufacturing principles and best practices in supplier processes.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation related to supplier quality activities. Prepare and present reports on supplier quality performance and improvement initiatives.
  • Collaboration with both external & internal teams, including procurement, engineering, and production, to ensure supplier quality aligns with company requirements. Facilitate communication and collaboration between suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May lead small projects with low risks and resource requirements. Explains information; developing skills to bring team members to consensus around topics within field. Conveys performance expectations and may handle sensitive issues.
  • Jobs at this level function with some autonomy but are subject to functional practices and precedents or are covered by well-defined policies or review of end results. The job allows modification of procedures and practices covering work as long as the end results meet standards of acceptability (quality, volume, timeliness etc.).
  • Uses some judgment and has the ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters to address more complicated, day-to-day problems. Has ability to prioritize information for data analysis. Uses technical experience and analytical thinking. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own team to arrive at decisions.


Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in ownership of quality assurance and control for assigned supply chain, customer and products/process areas. + Minimum of 3 years of ownership of quality assurance and control for assigned supply chain, customer and products/process areas.
  • Experience in supplier quality management, preferably in the aerospace or manufacturing industry.
  • Strong knowledge of quality assurance principles, methodologies, and tools.
  • Ability to travel to supplier locations as needed.
  • Experience with root cause analysis and corrective action processes.

This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information.
