Job summary

UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital is seeking a Lead Mammographer to join the Mammography team at UPMC Hillman Cancer Center in Shadyside. This full-time role focuses on coordinating workflow, mentoring staff, and supporting Imaging leadership while performing advanced imaging procedures.

You will join a daylight-hours schedule with occasional evening shifts, no on-call or weekend duties, and access to state-of-the-art imaging technology, with learning and career growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of clinical experience as a Registered Mammography Technologist.
• Breast Sonography and/or Bone Densitometry certification required within 12 months of hire.
• ARRT M Certificate.
• BLS/CPR certification.
• Act 34 clearance.

Responsibilities

• Performs duties in alignment with Mammographer Multi Skill or Mammography Specialist.
• Coordinates daily workflow and department schedule considering staff availability and patient volumes.
• Monitors supply utilization, ordering and restocking.
• Serves as a mentor and leader for staff; promotes teamwork and achievement of departmental goals.
• Deals with conflicts using leadership tools.
• Provides remediation for Mammographers when necessary.
• Assists in interview recruitment and provides feedback for annual reviews.
• Leads orientation and training for new hires and students.
• Oversees maintenance of equipment and quality control tests.
