SUMMARY OF THE POSITION:

The position requires advanced maintenance technician skills. The Lead Maintenance oversees daily maintenance and janitorial tasks, acting as a leader and role model for staff. Responsibilities include performing preventive, emergency, cosmetic, routine maintenance, and inspections. The role emphasizes safe work practices, physical effort, troubleshooting, problem-solving, attention to detail, customer service, and time management.

Responsibilities
  • Schedule and respond to work orders, including follow-up with residents and management as needed.
  • Assist in safety training and inspections; follow up on plumbing, electrical, mechanical repairs.
  • Coordinate with management on projects and inspections, meeting deadlines.
  • Operate and install repairs in accordance with local, state, and national codes.
  • Inspect work for quality, safety, and compliance with contracts.
  • Perform safety equipment inspections, testing, and maintenance.
  • Must be able to function in an on-call capacity and have reliable transportation.
Qualifications
  • Basic math and computer skills; fluency in English.
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations related to worker safety and hazards.
  • 5+ years of multi-family apartment maintenance experience preferred, or comparable certified journeyman level skills, or vocational-tech graduate with journeyman rating in relevant trades.
