Apartment Management Professionals, LLC (AMP Residential) is seeking to hire a Lead Maintenance Technician to join our team at Riverfront Towers! This apartment community has 549 units and is located in downtown Detroit, MI.

The Lead Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the property in a safe, attractive, and comfortable condition. This individual will maintain relationships with service staff, residents, and vendors. Key responsibilities include providing excellent customer service, conducting regular inspections of grounds and buildings as part of a preventative maintenance plan, completing service requests, and assisting with apartment make-ready processes. The Lead Maintenance Technician reports directly to the Maintenance Supervisor.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Prepare vacant apartment homes.
  • Complete property work orders efficiently and courteously.
  • Follow preventive maintenance guidelines.
  • Maintain the physical asset.
  • Utilize various skillsets such as HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and appliance repair.
  • Work as part of a team to achieve property goals.
  • Accept on-call responsibilities on a rotated schedule.
  • Follow safety procedures.
Qualifications
  • Hard worker
  • Valid Driver's License with auto insurance
  • Excellent customer service skills with strong leadership experience
  • Experience with apartment turnovers and team leadership
  • Experience as a Maintenance Supervisor at a small multi-family property is preferred
  • Conflict resolution, organization skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Facilities maintenance experience is a plus
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
  • Availability for after-hours and weekend on-call duties (rotated schedule)

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to stand, walk, sit, use hands and fingers, reach, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, and hear.
  • Ability to lift or move up to 100 lbs occasionally.
