Job summary

The City of Goleta is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Lead Maintenance Worker in the Public Works Department, supporting the Parks and Open Space and Street Maintenance Divisions. Two vacancies exist.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent supplemented by specialized training in maintenance and construction work.
• Three years of increasingly responsible experience in the maintenance and repair of public facilities in the area of assignment.
• Knowledge of operations, services and activities of a Public Works maintenance program; principles of lead supervision and training.

Responsibilities

• Lead, organize, and review the work of staff in the area of work assigned.
• Independently perform the most difficult cleaning, maintenance and repair work in the area of work assigned.
• Interpret, explain, and enforce Department policies and procedures.
• Make mathematical calculations.
• Maintenance and support to splashpad including cleaning, inspections, and minor repairs.
• Provide lead supervision and oversight of daily operations of staff and/or contractors in Parks and Open Space or Street Maintenance.
