City of Kingsburg is seeking a lead worker to supervise and participate in a crew maintaining City streets, parks, and related areas. The role requires performing complex tasks and providing lead supervision to a small public works crew.
Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and 3 years of experience in construction, parks, grounds, or related work, with familiarity with heavy machinery such as backhoe, forklift, and tractor. A California driver’s license is required.
Under general supervision, to serve as lead worker and participate in the work of a crew involved in the maintenance of City streets, parks, and related areas; to perform more difficult and complex tasks in streets and parks maintenance work; and perform other related work as required. Incumbents whose positions are allocated to this class (Parks Division and Streets Division) are assigned the more difficult and complex tasks. This is the full journey level class in the Public Works series. Incumbents are assigned duties requiring them to perform independently or with minimal supervision. Positions will also typically provide lead supervision to a small crew of other public works employees.
Education: Graduation from high school or GED equivalent.
Experience: Applicable time as a city employee or 3 years of experience in construction work, parks, grounds, and pool maintenance, or other related experience for the type of work listed. Experience with heavy machinery such as; backhoe, forklift, and tractor.
