Apartment Management Professionals, LLC (AMP Residential) is seeking to hire a Lead Maintenance Technician to join our team at 83 West Townhomes! This apartment community has 504 units and is located in West Bloomfield, MI.

The Lead Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the property in a safe, attractive, and comfortable condition. This individual will maintain relationships with service staff, residents, and vendors. Key responsibilities include providing excellent customer service, conducting regular inspections as part of a preventative maintenance plan, completing service requests, and assisting with apartment make-ready processes. The Lead Maintenance Technician reports directly to the Maintenance Supervisor.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Preparing vacant apartments for occupancy by making necessary repairs
  • Completing work orders in occupied units with prompt, friendly service
  • Assisting in organizing and assigning service work orders under the Maintenance Supervisor's direction
  • Following preventive maintenance guidelines
  • Maintaining property grounds
  • Handling HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliance, and other service requests
  • Collaborating with team members to achieve property goals
  • Following safety procedures
  • Maintaining inventory, logs, and safety of tools, equipment, supplies, and maintenance shop
  • Mentoring and training other grounds and maintenance technicians as directed
  • Accepting on-call responsibilities on a rotated schedule
Qualifications
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Robust maintenance background
  • Excellent organizational skills for a fast-paced environment
  • Leadership and communication skills
  • Valid Driver's License with auto insurance
  • EPA Certification required
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
  • Availability after hours and weekends for on-call duties (rotated schedule)

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to stand, walk, sit, use hands and fingers, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms
  • Ability to climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, talk, or hear
  • Must be able to lift or move up to 100 lbs occasionally
