Job summary

La Paloma Country Club in Tucson, AZ, part of Troon, is seeking a full-time Lead Maintenance Technician. The role is hands-on, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting, and equipment repairs.

La Paloma Country Club, located in Tucson, AZ, is pleased to announce an excellent career opportunity for a full-time Lead Maintenance Technician! We are seeking a driven individual who is eager to learn, contribute, and grow within a fast-paced hospitality-focused property organization. As part of Troon, you will contribute to a global leader in golf and community management.

Pay:

$30.00 per hour

Summary:

This is a working lead position, not a desk-based supervisory role. The successful candidate will personally troubleshoot and complete repairs, while coordinating specialized vendor support when needed. The ideal candidate is resourceful, communicates honestly, asks for assistance when needed, and does not consider a repair complete until it has been tested and verified.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Performs hands‑on repairs, including basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC troubleshooting, carpentry, painting, drywall, equipment repair, and general maintenance.
  • Responds promptly to routine and emergency maintenance requests.
  • Evaluates repairs, identifies the cause, and determines the parts and resources needed.
  • Researches and sources parts and materials through local suppliers and other appropriate resources.
  • Takes ownership of work orders from initial assessment through completion, testing, cleanup, and documentation.
  • Conducts routine building and preventive maintenance inspections.
  • Maintains club equipment, including appliances, refrigeration, HVAC, fitness, pool, kitchen, and mechanical systems.
  • Communicates progress, delays, parts needed, and outstanding concerns promptly.
  • Coordinates with resort engineering and outside vendors when specialized work is required.
  • Inspects vendor work and confirms repairs are complete before closing a work order.
  • Maintains organized tools, supplies, records, and maintenance areas.
  • Participates in occasional after‑hours or emergency support as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Three or more years of hands‑on commercial, hospitality, club, resort, apartment, or facilities‑maintenance experience preferred.
Knowledge/Skill:
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
  • Experience with general plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, mechanical, and equipment repairs.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize requests, and consistently follow projects through to completion.
  • Comfortable using email, tablets, photographs, and digital work‑order systems.
Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or GED required.
Certificates/Licenses:
  • Valid driver's license may be required.
  • HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or pool certifications are a plus.
Physical Requirements:
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, climb ladders, push, and pull.
  • Regularly required to lift up to 50 lbs. and use team‑lifting procedures for heavier items.
Works indoors and outdoors in varying Arizona weather conditions.

Occasional early‑morning, evening, weekend, holiday, or emergency availability may be required.
