Job summary

The Salvation Army Duluth Corps is seeking a Lead Maintenance Technician to keep the building clean, safe, and well maintained. You will manage apartment turnovers, perform routine and emergency repairs, and support HVAC, boiler systems, plumbing, and electrical work on-site.

This role requires a high school diploma, Minnesota boiler licenses, a valid driver's license, and the ability to lift up to 100 lb. The position is on-site in Duluth, with occasional after-hours calls.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must obtain Minnesota Special Engineer boiler license within 120 days of employment and work toward Minnesota Class C boiler license.
• Experience in plumbing, mechanical, electrical repairs, HVAC, and facility maintenance.
• Must pass background checks, including through The Salvation Army and MN DHS.
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license, meet MVR requirements, and maintain a valid DOT medical card.

Responsibilities

• Manage apartment turnovers: cleaning, painting, repairing, and preparing units to be move-in ready.
• Maintain HVAC and boiler systems; monitor performance and address issues.
• Perform minor plumbing and electrical repairs.
• Maintain interior and exterior property areas and respond to maintenance needs.
• Assist with contractor access and coordinate on-site repairs.
• Repair appliances and equipment including lawn mowers and vacuums.
• Coordinate vehicle maintenance and ensure safe operation.
