Job summary

Goodwin University is seeking a skilled maintenance technician to service and repair campus facilities on East Hartford grounds. The role encompasses painting, carpentry, plumbing, electrical troubleshooting, and HVAC support, with emphasis on safety and reliability.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced painting, carpentry, and plumbing tasks.

Position Summary

This position provides routine maintenance services to the Goodwin University campus.

Essential Job Functions / Primary Responsibilities

• Advanced painting, carpentry, and plumbing skills
• Strong electrical troubleshooting skills
• Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and HVAC systems and complete repairs
• Perform advanced preventive building maintenance tasks
• Move furniture, boxes, and files
• Flexible work hours
• Ensure all safety procedures are practiced

Other Functions

• Perform similar or related work as required, directed or as situation permits
• Be on call week in rotation
• Continue professional development and training; keep current with trends
• Assist other department staff as needed to promote a team effort

Qualifications

Minimum Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• At least two years of experience in the maintenance field
• OSHA 10 certification

Special Requirements

• Valid CT driver’s license and insured vehicle
• Lift certification preferred
