Job summary

Community Health Systems is seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer III to perform advanced maintenance and troubleshooting on critical healthcare systems within a hospital environment.

You will lead maintenance projects, ensure regulatory compliance, and mentor junior engineers while coordinating with departments to minimize patient-care disruptions. Strong CMMS skills and a background in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and medical gas are favored.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5–7 years in facilities maintenance with healthcare experience preferred.
• Associate degree or formal training in facilities maintenance preferred.
• 3+ years in a healthcare environment required; HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and medical gas experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced maintenance and repairs on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, medical gas, and backup power systems.
• Lead maintenance projects and coordinate with hospital departments to minimize patient care disruption.
• Ensure compliance with Joint Commission, OSHA, and fire codes; document activities for audits.
• Respond to alarms and incidents; participate in after-hours on-call maintenance as needed.
• Mentor junior technicians and maintain regular attendance and reliability.
