Industrial electronics, PLCs, GMP/SQF familiarity are valued.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 2+ years experience maintaining high-speed packaging equipment and resolving mechanical/electrical problems.
• Experience with PLC servo systems, frequency drives, AC/DC motors, brakes or clutches.
• Industrial experience with conveyors, drives, and preventative maintenance; pneumatics, hydraulics, electrical controls.
• Experience troubleshooting bearings, belts, and gears.
• Food industry experience with GMP/SQF is valuable.

Job PurposeMentors and coordinates the activities of maintenance technicians. Trains technicians to work safely with a “no-downtime” mentality, which includes setting-up, inspecting, maintaining, and troubleshooting all pneumatic machines and packaging production equipment with programmable logic controls.

• Observes mechanical devices in operation to trouble shoot and resolve mechanical problems Adjusts functional parts of mechanical devices and control instruments
• Fabricates, disassembles, and assembles production equipment to gain access to and remove defective parts
• Performs sheet metal work and employs basic shop floor skills (lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools)
• Installs moves and relocates machinery/equipment according to blueprints and other drawings
• Initiates purchase order for parts and machines and creates and documents on applicable work orders
• Prepares work orders indicating malfunctions of equipment.
• Inspects and tests shop equipment and new and repaired instruments to verify dimensions of

parts and for conformance to quality control standards.

• Disassembles, adjusts, repairs, calibrates, and reassembles damaged or defective instruments or equipment.
• Assists workers in repair of equipment.
• Studies production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment.
• Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.
• Interprets specifications, blueprints, and job orders to workers, and assigns duties.
• Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
• Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
• Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew.
• Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving work problems.
• Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.l
• Maintains time and production records.

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE

• Associate degree in Industrial Electronic and Maintenance or two to three years applicable to maintenance and/ or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum of two years of experience maintaining high-speed packaging or processing equipment to include troubleshooting and resolving mechanical, electrical and instrumentation problems
• Must have industrial electrical and instrumentation principles in programmable logic control servo systems, frequency drives, AC/DC motors, brake clutches and preventative maintenance procedures.
• industrial experience with conveyors power transmission systems drives and preventative maintenance and background in pneumatics, hydraulics, electrical controls (120v and 24v) 3 phase power
• Demonstrated experience troubleshooting bearings, belts, sheaves, sprockets, chains and gear reducers and proper alignment of these drive devices
• Experience in the food industry and knowledge of GMP’s and SQF audits would be valuable
