Job summary

Wedgewood Pharmacy in Swedesboro, NJ is seeking a Made-to-Order Compounding Supervisor to lead a team of technicians, ensure safe, compliant compounding, and drive performance. You’ll own daily operations, quality, and efficiency while partnering with QA, inventory, and customer service to deliver timely medications.

The role requires NJ tech licensure, hands-on compounding, and leadership experience, with a focus on USP standards and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Active New Jersey Pharmacy Technician license in good standing.
• 2+ years of hands-on compounding experience in a pharmacy setting.
• Working knowledge of USP and compounding documentation practices.
• Associate degree or equivalent experience in a compounding pharmacy.
• Demonstrated ability to train, coach, mentor, or provide leadership to others.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Ability to understand KPIs and use data to improve safety, quality, productivity, and performance.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced operational environment.
• Working knowledge of Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to lead by example, build trust, motivate others, and hold team members accountable.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day leadership, coaching, feedback, and support to compounding technicians.
• Set clear expectations and hold the team accountable for performance, quality, safety, and productivity.
• Support onboarding, training, competency assessments, and cross-training.
• Recognize strong performance and help team members develop their skills and prepare for future opportunities.
• Partner with HR and leadership as needed to address employee relations and performance matters.
• Ensure compounding activities meet USP and New Jersey Board of Pharmacy requirements, and company SOPs.
• Review batch records, documentation, and beyond-use dating for accuracy and completeness.
• Support and lead investigations involving deviations, errors, or near-misses and ensure appropriate corrective actions are completed.
• Maintain an audit-ready environment.
• Coordinate daily staffing, workload, and priorities to meet production and turnaround-time expectations.
• Serve as an escalation point for urgent orders and operational challenges.
• Partner with Inventory and Purchasing to ensure ingredients and supplies are available when needed.
• Monitor department performance, including quality, accuracy, throughput, turnaround time, safety, and team engagement.
• Use data and performance trends to identify and prioritize improvement opportunities.
• Improve processes to strengthen quality, efficiency, productivity, and capacity.
• Identify root causes and implement sustainable solutions.
• Encourage employees to identify challenges and recommend better ways of working.
• Support change while reinforcing a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
