Job summary

Forum Energy Technologies, Inc. is seeking a skilled machinist to set up and operate conventional and NC machines for fabrication to tight tolerances.

You will read blueprints, determine tooling and setup requirements, and monitor operations to ensure parts meet specifications. This safety‑sensitive role involves coaching Level 1–3 machinists, performing first piece inspections, and optimizing tooling and programs to improve production while adhering to quality standards across Mills, Lathes and

Qualifications

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and other technical documents.
  • Working knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Ability to apply basic concepts of algebra and geometry.

Responsibilities

  • Review print & work order.
  • Attach fixture to machine and secure part.
  • Position tools per setup instructions.
  • Input program or program machine if necessary.
  • Operate machine to produce part.
  • Measure work piece and adjust offset as required.
  • Stamp or engrave necessary information on part.
  • Notify supervisor or lead man of nonconforming product.
  • Deburr part as necessary.
  • Complete work order documentation & first piece inspection.
  • Check calibration on QC instruments.
  • Proof program & edit as necessary.
  • Optimize tooling & programs to increase production.
  • Coach, train, and develop Level 1, 2, and 3 machinists
  • Operate the larger mills
  • Operate forklift as needed.
