Job description

Position: Lead Machinist

Location: Louisa, VA

Duration: Full-Time, Contract to Hire

Shift: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM

Pay Range: Up to $32/hr (Depending on experience)

Job Description:

We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Lead Machinist to join and potentially lead our team. The ideal candidate will bring a wealth of knowledge in Lathe, Manual, or CNC Machining and the leadership capabilities to guide the machining department. This role not only offers competitive pay but also presents opportunities for growth and leadership within the organization.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage the machining department, ensuring high standards of quality and efficiency.
  • Operate Lathe, Manual, and/or CNC machines to produce precision parts with a focus on accuracy.
  • Interpret and execute work from blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
  • Oversee and ensure the proper maintenance and safe operation of all machinery.
  • Uphold the production of high-quality work, meeting tight tolerances and deadlines.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a machinist, with a strong emphasis on manual machining.
  • Deep expertise in operating Lathe, Manual, and CNC machines.
  • A Journeyman card is advantageous but optional.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage and mentor team members.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a keen attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Proficiency in running and troubleshooting a variety of manual and CNC machines.
  • Subject to a pre-employment drug test and/or background check.
