As a 2nd Shift Lead Machinist, you’ll lead a team of 5–10 machinists, oversee manual machining operations, and ensure the quality, safety, and efficiency of the shop floor. You’ll read blueprints, operate lathes and mills, and play a key role in training and production planning.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise a team of manual machinists and delegate tasks.
  • Inspect machined parts for accuracy and quality.
  • Operate lathes, mills, grinders, and shop equipment.
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and support maintenance.
  • Train new machinists and promote a safety-first culture.
  • Interpret blueprints and translate specs into production plans.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams for workflow alignment.

Qualifications:

  • HS diploma or GED required.
  • 5+ years manual machining experience, preferably with hydraulic cylinders.
  • Experience with large engine lathes and shop equipment.
  • Mechanical aptitude with an eye for detail and safety.
  • Must pass a drug test and physical.

Shift:

Monday–Friday, 3:00pm – 11:30pm

Compensation:

$40–$45/hr. depending on experience.
