Job summary

General Motors in Spring Hill, TN, seeks a Lead Manufacturing Engineer - Machining to drive the development, execution and launch of machining processes and equipment through plant handover. You will ensure safety, quality, cost and capability targets while aligning with GM standards.

The role requires leading cross-functional teams, owning crankshaft machining scope, and delivering robust systems across block and head machining with relocation benefits available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• At least seven years of manufacturing/manufacturing engineering experience.
• Experience leading machining processing, execution, and launch activities, especially crankshaft machining.
• Strong understanding of crankshaft processes, equipment, tooling, and gaging.
• Experience launching crankshaft machining lines or cells and overseeing OEM partners.

Responsibilities

• Lead machining scope from concept through installation, run-off, launch, and handover.
• Own crankshaft machining scope and support block/head machining enhancements.
• Develop and maintain process flow diagrams, routings, and OE/CR documentation.
• Define error-proofing, nonconforming-product, backup, and process-control strategies.
• Lead PFMEA and Control Plan development with cross-functional teams.
• Provide regular program updates on timing, risks, and launch readiness.
