Portland Community College’s OMIC Training Center seeks a skilled Machine Shop Technician II to lead and support lab operations. You will operate manual and CNC equipment, oversee technicians, and ensure safety and quality in a dynamic educational setting.

This full-time, on-site role requires experience in machining, CAD/CAM familiarity, and the ability to guide others while maintaining precise standards for instruction and laboratory work.

Qualifications

• Journey-level experience in machining or related field.
• Proficiency with manual and CNC machine shop equipment.
• Experience directing or guiding the work of others.
• Knowledge of OSHA safety standards.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.

Responsabilités

• Operate and maintain manual and CNC machine shop equipment.
• Perform skilled machining and fabrication tasks.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and ensure safe operation.
• Direct and oversee Step I technicians and others.
• Mentor staff and provide technical guidance.
• Enforce safety standards and conduct inspections.
• Maintain records of maintenance and lab operations.
