About the role

Our growing data science team works closely with executives and leaders to support business strategy. As a Lead Machine Learning Engineer, you will leverage rigorous AI/ML methods to deliver value and enable data-driven product development. What You Will Do

• Define and implement the AI/ML priorities for the Cisco Network Platform data science team, collaborating with product managers, AI architects, designers, user researchers, and engineering teams.
• Design and implement sophisticated models and architectures.
• Understand data schemas to recommend data models, evaluation, and governance processes.
• Establish best practices for model integration and deployment using CI/CD principles.
• Evaluate AI models through rigorous testing, experimentation, and benchmarking.
• Address complex and novel product and engineering challenges creatively.
• Influence architectural decisions focusing on security, scalability, and performance.
• Collaborate across teams to define and build features across the product portfolio.
• Work with managers to set team objectives and key results.
• Supervise and mentor team members, setting standards for modeling and code quality.

What Skills You Possess

• 8+ years of industry experience or equivalent in relevant advanced degrees.
• Proficiency in Python or Scala, and SQL querying.
• Experience designing and implementing large-scale ML frameworks and models.
• Familiarity with data processing and ML libraries like Pandas, Scikit-Learn, TensorFlow, Keras, etc.
• Experience deploying and monitoring scalable data and ML pipelines.
• Knowledge of distributed computing engines (e.g., Apache Spark) and real-time data streaming (e.g., Kafka, Kinesis).
• Experience with cloud-based AI/ML infrastructure (AWS preferred).
• Knowledge of containerization (Docker), orchestration (K8s), and CI/CD (GitLab).
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail.

• Experience with GenAI frameworks like LangChain, Jarvis, Amazon Bedrock.
