Job summary

Capital One National Association seeks a Lead Mac Platform Engineer to join our Mac Engineering team, focusing on macOS vulnerability management to keep our fleet secure and vuln-free. You will identify improvements for processes and observability and support testing/validation of software deployments.

The role involves packaging, testing, and scheduling patches, reviewing vulnerability reports, engaging partners, and driving automation improvements to enhance compliance and incident response.

Qualifications

• Basic qualifications include a High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent certification.
• At least 2 years of experience managing macOS devices using JAMF Pro.
• At least 2 years of experience with Vulnerability Management and patching.
• At least 2 years of experience developing Shell scripts, AppleScript, or Python scripts.

Responsibilities

• Package, test, and schedule routine patches for business software when vulnerability patch fixes are released.
• Review vulnerability management reports and investigate devices with active vulnerabilities to reduce risk.
• Engage with vulnerability management partners for debugging false-positives or more vulnerability information.
• Escalate vulnerabilities/patching operations needing exceptions due to user impact.
• Assist with packaging requests for new software and updates.
• Research improvements to vulnerability management posture on endpoints for better compliance.
• Review automation processes to ensure they work and update client software.
• Assist with testing and validation of new software and agents planned for deployment.
• Improve vulnerability observability with telemetry from Mac endpoints for data-driven decisions.
