Job summary

Louisiana Department of Veterans Affairs at the Southeast Louisiana Veterans Home is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to serve as a lead over CNAs, implement care plans, administer medications, and perform lab specimen collection in a 156-bed long-term care facility.

Position offers LPN1/LPN2/LPN3 classifications with bi-weekly pay and shift differentials. Work schedule requires rotating days and some weekends/holidays, with opportunities for premium pay based on hours worked.

Qualifications

• Licensed Practical Nurse license required.
• Experience in long-term care preferred.
• Ability to lead and supervise nursing staff.

Responsibilities

• Nursing operations during 7 a.m.–7:30 p.m. or 7 p.m.–7:30 a.m. shifts.
• Leads and evaluates nursing staff performance.
• Conducts QA audits and staff in-services.
• Investigates and reports resident complaints and incidents.
• Admissions/discharges and shift-report handling.
