Job summary

La Porte City Specialty Care in La Porte City, IA is hiring a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for a part-time Charge Nurse role. The shift is 1:30pm–10pm with every other weekend, offering a competitive hourly rate and shift differential.

You will perform assessments, administer medications, supervise CNAs, coordinate care with the interdisciplinary team, and ensure regulatory compliance while delivering compassionate, resident-centered care to our 46-bed skilled nursing community.

Qualifications

Valid LPN license in Iowa.
Current CPR certification.
Knowledge of state/federal long-term care regulations.
Commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care.

Responsibilities

Assess residents' clinical status and contribute to care planning with the interdisciplinary team.
Deliver and oversee direct nursing care, including wound care and IV therapy where permitted.
Administer medications and monitor responses with accurate documentation.
Coordinate resident care as unit leader, communicating with physicians, leadership, residents, and families.
Supervise CNAs and support staff to maintain high-quality resident care.
Ensure adherence to state and federal regulations and facility policies.
