Job summary

UF Health in Gainesville seeks a Lead Licensed Practical Nurse to coordinate the nursing staff within the practice and support patient care in a busy ambulatory setting.

You will measure vital signs, prepare patients for exams, assist providers, administer medications, handle patient calls, maintain supplies, and help with exam-room readiness. Occasional float to UFHP practices may be required to staff needs.

Qualifications

• Licensed LPN eligible to practice in the State of Florida.
• One year of ambulatory care or hospital experience preferred.
• Previous staff coordination experience preferred.
• Demonstrates initiative and ability to multitask.
• Outstanding patient/customer service skills.
• Verbal clarity, team focus, and problem-solving skills required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate nursing staff workload and workflow within the practice.
• Measure and record vital signs, place patients in exam rooms, prepare for exams/procedures, assist provider.
• Administer medications and provide patient education.
• Process patient phone calls per practice protocols.
• Maintain medical supply inventory and stock exam rooms.
• May float to other UFHP practices as needed for staffing.
