Job summary
State Systems, Inc. in Huntsville, AL is seeking a Lead Low Voltage Technician to install, program, and service commercial fire alarm, access control, CCTV, and intrusion systems.
You’ll ensure compliance with codes, work independently, and lead on-site field operations. Ideal candidates have 2+ years in low voltage, strong problem-solving, and solid communication skills; a high school diploma or GED is required, with technical training preferred.

- Install, program, and service commercial fire alarm systems.
- Install, program, and service access control systems.
- Perform work related to CCTV, intrusion detection, and low voltage communication systems.
- Conduct preventive maintenance and troubleshoot low voltage systems.
- Diagnose and repair electrical and system issues using testing equipment.
- Ensure all installations comply with electrical and fire safety codes.
- Work independently or collaboratively on projects.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicles; follow safety policies.

In this role, you will ensure systems are installed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with all applicable codes and standards.

- Install, program, and service commercial fire alarm systems
- Install, program, and service access control systems
- Perform work related to CCTV, intrusion detection, and low voltage communication systems
- Conduct preventive maintenance and troubleshoot low voltage systems
- Diagnose and repair electrical and system issues using appropriate testing equipment
- Ensure all installations comply with electrical and fire safety codes
- Work independently or collaboratively with team members to complete projects
- Maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicles in proper working condition
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures
- Represent State Systems professionally on job sites
- High School Diploma or GED required; technical school training preferred
- 2+ years of experience in low voltage systems or related field
- Basic knowledge of electric and battery-powered hand tools
- Proficiency with basic computer skills
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Valid driver’s license required
- Must be in good physical condition with no limitations
- Willing to work outdoors in inclement weather
- Able to lift 50 lbs. repeatedly and up to 75 lbs. occasionally
- Able to push/pull greater than 100 lbs. as needed
- Able to climb ladders and work at heights of 12–24 feet
