FlyLock Security Solutions - Columbia seeks a Lead Locksmith Technician to join our Columbia team. This hands-on role focuses on emergency and standard locksmithing services for commercial and residential clients, with emphasis on access control hardware and key systems.

Ideal candidates have at least 2 years of locksmithing experience, can work independently or in a team, and communicate effectively with customers. Local travel and a strong safety mindset are expected.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years experience in technical hands-on field experience in locksmithing, access control, door hardware, and other skilled trades.
• Good relationship-building skills with a diverse population including customers, technicians, and employees.
• Good verbal and communication skills.
• Able to work with minimal supervision and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Handle emergency work orders for commercial clients.
• Install, repair, and maintain commercial and residential hardware.
• Experience with Safe and Card Access is a huge plus.
• Install, repair, and maintain access control hardware.
• Modify hardware for locks and create/master key systems.
• Perform residential and commercial lock re-keying and pinning.
• Read and interpret instructions in various formats (written/diagrams/schedules).
• Troubleshoot with multiple variables in real-world scenarios.
• Clean, calibrate, and service equipment used.
• Read operating manuals and procedures.
• Write simple correspondence.
• Present information effectively to customers and clients.
• Perform basic arithmetic operations and key-cutting by code.

Lead Locksmith Technician

Reports To:

General Manager or Franchise Owner

Key Areas of Responsibility:

The Lead Locksmith Technician position is an integral part of FlyLock Security Solutions - Columbia and is key to the growth of the company. All Lead Locksmiths must have the ability to work well in a high-paced working environment. The individual must work well as part of the team and independently from the FlyLock owner. The Lead Locksmith position is a hands-on technical position geared toward an individual who has a technical mindset. Ideal candidates will have locksmithing knowledge and demonstrate the ability to learn new technical methods and techniques.

The responsibilities of a FlyLock Security Solutions Lead Locksmith consist of the following:

• Ability to perform emergency work orders, for commercial clients only.
• Ability to install, repair, and maintain Commercial and Residential hardware.
• Safe and Card Access experience is a Huge Plus
• Ability to install, repair, and maintain Access Control Hardware
• Ability to modify hardware for locks.
• Ability to create and maintain master key systems.
• Residential & Commercial Lock re-keying/ Perform Pining of locks.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in written, diagram, or schedule form.
• Ability to troubleshoot with a variety of variables in situations.
• Ability to clean, maintain, adjust, calibrate & service equipment used.
• Ability to read operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write simple correspondence.
• Ability to effectively present information to customers & commercial clients.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.
• Ability to cut keys by code.

Operations Support:

• Receive verbal instructions from Management or Clients/Customers.
• Perform small projects as directed by Management.
• Complete and submit paperwork accurately and on time.

Qualifications, Knowledge, and Skills:

• Minimum of 2 years experience in technical hands-on field experience in locksmithing, access control, door hardware, and other skilled trades.
• Good relationship-building skills with a diverse population including all customers' partners, technicians, and all other company employees.
• Good verbal and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple functions at the same time.
• Good organizational skills.
• Able to work with minimal supervision.
• Capable of working effectively as part of a team.
• Able to work safely on ladders.
• Ability to drive in compliance with company vehicle policy.
• Provide a high level of timely & accurate customer service.
• Communicates effectively with the client to determine what services are needed.
• Respond to general inquiries from customers/clients.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to fluently understand, speak, and write English.
• Ability to push, pull, and lift at least 50 lbs.
• Ability to kneel, crouch and stoop.
• Ability to reach above and below the shoulders.
• Ability to use hands and fingers to grasp, twist, and pull.
• Ability to climb a ladder and work above ground.
