Job summary
National Football League (NFL) Media seeks an experienced Audio 1 (A1) to lead audio production for live and recorded programming across NFL Media platforms. This role manages planning, execution, mixing, and overall audio quality for studio, remote, and special event productions at the Inglewood facility.
The ideal candidate brings extensive live broadcast audio experience, SSL console proficiency, IP-based audio networking (AES67/Dante/SMPTE 2110), and calm leadership in high-profile sports
Qualifications
- 7+ years of professional broadcast audio experience, including significant experience mixing live sports and studio productions.
- Proven experience as Audio 1 (A1) or senior-level broadcast audio mixer in TV/streaming/live events.
- Advanced experience operating SSL audio consoles; SSL System T and S500 platforms preferred.
- Expertise in stereo, 5.1 surround, and multi-channel broadcast audio mixing.
- Knowledge of IP-based audio infrastructures (AES67, Dante, SMPTE 2110).
- Experience supporting remote productions, transmission workflows and large-scale live broadcasts.
- Strong understanding of signal flow, routing, and communications systems.
- Playback systems, audio servers, and broadcast production tech proficiency.
- Experience with Riedel intercoms is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the lead audio mixer for live and recorded productions, ensuring the highest level of audio quality and operational excellence.
- Design, configure, and execute complex audio workflows for studio shows, remote broadcasts, and events.
- Operate and mix live productions utilizing broadcast audio consoles, playback systems, and IP-based audio infrastructure.
- Collaborate with producers, directors, engineers to deliver consistent audio experiences.
- Develop and maintain show-specific audio configurations and routing strategies.
- Lead audio planning for remote productions and venue integration.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical audio issues in real time to maintain on-air continuity.
- Oversee setup and optimization of communications systems including Riedel intercoms.
- Ensure compliance with broadcast audio standards across stereo and surround formats.
- Provide guidance to A2/A3 staff and freelancers.
- Maintain proficiency in emerging broadcast technologies and IP networking.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
