Job summary

JPMorgan Chase is seeking a Lead Software Engineer - Linux to advance the Linux Engineering team within CIP. The role focuses on building scalable, automated infrastructure and a secure Standard Operating Environment across on‑prem and cloud platforms.

You will lead in designing AI‑assisted workflows, implementing containerized solutions, and driving CI/CD excellence using Ansible, Terraform, Jenkins, Bash, and Python. The ideal candidate brings 5+ years of Linux infra experience.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience.
• Strong Linux infrastructure development and automation pipelines across on-prem and cloud.
• Experience with cloud, hybrid and virtualized infrastructure.
• Design and implement infrastructure automation using Ansible Core or Automation Platform.
• Working with containers and Kubernetes orchestration.
• Proficient in Python for automation and CI/CD practices.
• Experience with Windows Server to support cross-platform infra solutions.
• Experience creating REST API based microservices.
• Ability to review Ansible design and deployment processes.
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools and secure AI adoption.

Responsibilities

• Executes creative software solutions and troubleshooting with non-routine approaches.
• Test and certify Red Hat OS images and automate with Ansible, Terraform, Jenkins, Bash, and Python.
• Develop integration elements and APIs for enterprise use.
• Inspire and lead a team with a passion for cutting-edge technologies.
• Leverage the global network to tackle challenges and drive innovation.
• Deliver a Standard Operating Environment for the firm across platforms.
• Create standard OS images for servers, desktops, GPUs, and containers for on-prem and clouds.
• Host and manage software packages across clouds.
• Automate provisioning of Linux desktops for developers and streamline RPM deployment to production.
• Promote AI-assisted engineering practices with secure validation and code review standards.
• Improve automation value via SDLC tools and repeatable patterns.
