Job summary

Caesars Entertainment in the Lake Tahoe area is seeking a seasoned Cook I/II to join a fast-paced kitchen inspired by Gordon Ramsay’s Hell’s Kitchen. You will prepare high-quality menu items with accuracy and lead day-to-day line operations under pressure.

Ideal candidates have at least 5 years in a quality kitchen, strong leadership, and the ability to mentor teammates. This on-site role requires flexibility across outlets and a dedication to precision, teamwork, and culinary excellence.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred; certificates in culinary arts or ACF certification preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of cooking in a high quality establishment.
• Extensive experience in soups, sauces and gravies; or three-year apprenticeship or culinary school.
• Ability to understand and respond to written orders and directives in English.
• Flexible scheduling and ability to work across multiple outlets as needed.
• Knowledge of breads, pastries and bakery production.
• Expert skill level on all cook stations.
• Demonstrated leadership and coaching ability; mentor teammates.
• Ability to oversee daily kitchen operations in the absence of a Chef.
• Uphold integrity and standards; role model for Caesars.

Responsibilities

• Performs all functions of a Cook I and Cook II.
• Maintains adequate supply of menu items.
• Maintains sanitary condition of facilities and equipment.
• Inspects areas and coordinates cleaning with Kitchen Steward.
• Regularly inspects steam-table items for freshness.
• Protects company assets against waste.
• Provides leadership and training to lower level cooks.
• Updates cooking knowledge through resources and the Executive Chef.
