Job summary

Hampton Roads Transit is seeking a Rail Supervisor to oversee day-to-day operations of light rail vehicles and related maintenance vehicles. The position requires CDL Class B, ability to pass DOT and safety assessments, and experience in rail operations scheduling.

Qualifications

• Must have a CDL Class B license and ability to acquire Virginia CDL with air brake and passenger endorsements within 60 days.
• Experience in rail supervision or dispatcher roles preferred.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks while directing train movement.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day supervision of light rail vehicles and maintenance vehicles.
• Ensure safety policies are followed by all personnel and visitors.
• Direct rail operator training and scheduling; monitor performance against standards.
• Coordinate maintenance activities along the right-of-way and report issues promptly.
• Maintain records in accordance with agency policies and audits.
