Job summary

MGM Resorts International in Las Vegas seeks a Lead Lifeguard at Vdara to supervise a fast-paced pool area, ensure safety standards, and deliver outstanding guest experiences. You will guide the front-line team from setup to closing, maintaining high service levels and a secure environment.

The role requires strong decision-making, 16+ years of age, and the ability to work weekends and holidays. Starting pay is $17.00 per hour with a focus on safety, guest satisfaction, and teamwork.

Qualifications

• 16+ years of age or older
• 6+ months of lifeguard experience preferred
• 1+ year of experience in a resort or similar setting preferred
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays

Responsibilities

• Oversee pool staff to meet safety standards and service delivery
• Monitor water and deck areas and respond to emergencies
• Report incidents to supervisor and document appropriately
• Greet and assist guests while maintaining service standards
• Assist guests with poolside needs and ADA compliance
• Resolve guest needs quickly and creatively to prevent issues
• Supervise daily pool setup, breakdown, and cleanliness

THE JOB:

As a Lead Lifeguard at Vdara, you'll take charge of a fast-paced pool environment where safety, service, and guest experience come together. You'll lead your team on the front lines, overseeing operations, ensuring safety standards, supporting guest needs, and keeping the pool area running smoothly from setup to close. With a strong presence and quick decision making, you'll create a fun, safe, and seamless experience for every guest while guiding your team to deliver exceptional service.

THE STARTING RATE: $17.00 hourly

THE DAY-TO-DAY:

• Oversee the pool staff to meet safety standards, service delivery, cleanliness and ambiance; work with supporting departments to meet operational needs of the area
• Ensure the staff is providing safety by watching over water and deck areas and responding to emergency situations; adhere to company policies and legal requirements regarding safety, health, and welfare of guests, employees, and the property
• Report all guests and employee incidents/accidents to a supervisor and complete needed documentation
• Ensure the staff is proactively greeting and interacting with guests while adhering to company service standards
• Assist guests with pool side needs to include seating, towels, hours of operations, ADA requirements, amenities, directions and other needs
• Respond and resolve guest needs in a timely manner and creatively solve problems with the ability to anticipate, recognize, evaluate, and resolve potential difficulties
• Supervise the completion of daily pool set-up and breakdown needs, cleaning, linen distribution and maintaining attentiveness to the environment to enhance guest experience

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

• 16+ years of age or older
• 6+ months of prior lifeguard experience preferred
• 1+ year of experience in a resort or similar setting preferred
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
