Job summary

The City of Bozeman Swim Department is seeking full-time and part-time Lifeguard & Swim Instructors III who are confident, detail-oriented, quick thinkers, and team oriented to perform critical lifeguarding duties.

They will provide direction to the Lifeguard Instructor I and II’s, ensure patron safety at the indoor and outdoor aquatic facilities, provide important aquatics program instruction, and assist in the maintenance, upkeep, and custodial duties of the pool facilities, test chemicals and

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Lifeguarding/ aquatics experience with teaching experience preferred.
• Certifications listed in the requirements must be current or obtain within stated timelines.

Responsibilities

• Perform lifeguarding duties, enforce pool rules, monitor water safety, and document incidents.
• Provide aquatics program instruction, including lesson plans and stroke demonstrations.
• Lead lifeguard staff, train others, and assign tasks.
• Maintain pool facilities, perform routine maintenance, and assist in custodial duties.
• Test water chemistry and adjust balance as needed.
• Provide customer service and handle payments for passes, lessons, and programs.
