Job summary

The Salvation Army Ray and Joan Kroc Corps Community Center of Chicago is seeking a dedicated Aquatics Attendant to support the Aquatics Manager. You will supervise lifeguards, ensure guest safety, maintain facilities, and help provide a pleasant experience for all guests.

Applicants must have a high school diploma and lifeguard certification; prior pool experience preferred. Safe from Harm certification must be obtained within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Experience as a lifeguard or similar position.
• Current certifications in American Red Cross First Aid or First Aid For Public Safety Personnel (Title22) or above; CPR for the Professional Rescuer (CPR Pro), Water Safety Instructor (WSI ), Lifeguard Instructor (LGI), and Lifeguard Training.
• Must be Safe from Harm certified within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Observe swimmers, protect life, enforce regulations, and provide a safe, pleasant experience.
• Oversee day-to-day activities of aquatics programs and facilities.
• Maintain cleanliness and order in all pool areas and equipment.
• Supervise lifeguard rotation and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
• Report defects and ensure adherence to policies and procedures.
