Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Speech-Language Pathology or related field from an accredited institution.
• 5+ years in speech and language, literacy, achievement, or early childhood.
• Clinical experience with standardized assessments and real-world use.
• Strong knowledge of test development, research methods, and psychometrics.
• Translate evidence into strategic recommendations balancing rigor and business needs.
• Strong digital fluency and interest in AI and emerging technologies.
• Scholarly contributions through conferences or publications.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead research plans supporting new product development and revisions.
• Provide subject-matter leadership in speech-language pathology and related areas.
• Define product scope and assessment design aligned with needs.
• Lead item development, review, and evaluation using research and clinical expertise.
• Collaborate with psychometricians to review data and findings.
• Identify opportunities to apply AI and emerging technologies to research and products.
• Oversee assessment materials including digital interfaces and scoring resources.
• Support product commercialization with scientific and clinical materials.
• Represent Pearson through conference presentations and publications.
• Travel approximately 10% to collaborate with teams.

Education

Ph.D. in Speech-Language Pathology, Communication Sciences and Disorders, Early Childhood Development, School or Clinical Psychology, or a related field
