Job summary

Landscapes Golf Management, in partnership with The Short Course at Mountain Shadows, seeks a Lead Landscaper to maintain the resort grounds and high-traffic areas in Paradise Valley, AZ. This full-time role focuses on curb appeal, safety, and guest experience for members and visitors.

You will plant and maintain seasonal flora, manage irrigation-related tasks, and perform routine upkeep of the clubhouse surroundings while upholding LGM values and golf course etiquette.

Qualifications

  • Basic understanding of plant life, soil types, and pest control.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow directions.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to follow oral and written directions.

  • Apply mulch, weed beds, and keep garden areas tidy.
  • Prune trees and hedges to maintain visibility and safety.
  • Maintain clubhouse surroundings free of leaves and debris.
  • Assist with irrigation system maintenance.
  • Perform golf course setup tasks: cup cutting, tee cleanup, divot filling, ball mark repair.
  • Adhere to golf course etiquette and safety policies.
  • Regular attendance on site.

Landscapes Golf Management and The Short Course at Mountain Shadows are looking for a Lead Landscaper. This full-time position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the maintenance and upkeep of the resort facility grounds, ensuring an exceptional experience for our members and guests.

The Short Course at Mountain Shadows is an 18-hole par-3 golf course located at the base of Camelback Mountain. The course was ranked in the Top 10 short courses in the world by the PGA in October 2025. It is part of the top-ranked Mountain Shadows resort and serves as a prized amenity for resort guests and public golfers alike.

JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for performing the tasks associated with maintaining the “curb appeal” of the resort, associated grounds, and facilities. This role centers on creating an inviting environment for guests and managing high-traffic common areas.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

The essential functions include, but is not limited to the following:

  1. Promotes, works and acts in a manner consistent with the values of LGM.
  2. Plants and maintains seasonal flowers, shrubs, and ornamental trees to enhance the property's visual appeal.
  3. Apply mulch to beds and perform regular weeding to keep garden areas looking tidy.
  4. Prune trees and hedges to ensure they do not block windows, signage, or security lighting.
  5. Ensures that all areas around the clubhouse are free from leaves and debris including sidewalks and parking lots.
  6. Installs and maintains landscaping plant material and performs all associated landscaping duties.
  7. Assists with the repairs and maintenance of the irrigation system features.
  8. Performs golf course set up; cup cutting, tee cleanup, divot filling, ball mark repair, trash and debris removal, and golf ball washer maintenance.
  9. Complies with golf course etiquette rules.
  10. Must be well mannered, display a smile at all times, greet guests, member and fellow employees when encountered, show appreciation to the guests and the members, and demonstrate a willingness to help guests and members at all times.
  11. Possesses and understanding of the importance of safety and sees that safe operation procedures are observed in all daily activities. Adheres to the safety program.
  12. Demonstrates a commitment to the work and success of the club and the Company by being service- and solution-oriented, having positive interactions with all club staff and members/guests, and meeting established quality, service and safety expectations.
  13. Performs additional assignments per the direction of club or Company managers.
  14. Regular and punctual attendance on site for all scheduled shifts is required.
WORK HOURS AND CONDITIONS

Work hours may include early mornings and evenings on weekdays, weekends and holidays. Subject to inside and outside environmental conditions. May be exposed to inclement (non-threatening) weather, plant protection products, fertilizers, misdirected golf balls, and sharp and rapid equipment movement on a daily basis. Injury may result as a result of exposure to the above if safety policies and practices are not properly followed.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  1. High School Diploma or GED
  2. Previous golf course maintenance experience preferred.
