Job summary

Caltrans is seeking a Landscape Maintenance Leadworker in Tehama County. The role focuses on overseeing field operations, planning and coordinating work to maintain transportation landscapes while handling emergency response tasks and ensuring compliance with safety and licensing requirements.

The incumbent will lead crews, perform labor-intensive work, and may be required to travel for emergencies and training, with responsibilities including record-keeping and coordinating with supervisors.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid CDL with Tank Vehicle (N) endorsement.
• Must hold a Qualified Applicator Certificate (QAC), Category C.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and lead field operations on Special Crews.
• Plan, schedule and perform maintenance, cleanup and mitigation tasks.
• Respond to emergencies, encampment removals, illegal dumps, and freeway spills.
• Maintain records of labor, equipment and material usage.
• Be prepared to travel for emergencies and training as needed.
