Job summary

HDR is seeking a Principal Landscape Architect to lead design excellence across parks, plazas, and streetscapes in civic, health, science, education, and transit sectors. You will collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, mentor staff, and manage projects from concept through construction documentation and observation in Des Moines, IA.

Qualifications

• 15+ years landscape architecture experience preferred.
• Master’s degree in Urban Design, Landscape Architecture or related field is desirable.
• Licensed Landscape Architect in Iowa and Nebraska preferred.

Responsibilities

• Advocate for design excellence and lead site/public realm design through all phases.
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships; engage in business development.
• Lead pursuits of site-design projects; manage scope, schedule and fees; oversee projects through all phases.
• Mentor junior staff to grow design, client management and team culture.
