Works under the supervision of the Chemistry Supervisor. Applies broad practical and theoretical knowledge of Clinical Chemistry, Immunology and Special Chemistry in the activities of the Chemistry Laboratory. Is a resource person for the technologists in the department. Performs other duties as assigned.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities Includes the Following: Analyze blood, body fluids and urine specimens according to the established procedures of the Chemistry Department.
MANAGERIAL:
The following duties may be required to be performed routinely, in the absence of supervisory staff, or at the request of supervisory staff or Laboratory Administrative Director.

May be exposed to chemicals necessary to perform required tasks. Any hazardous chemicals the employee may be exposed to are listed in the hospital’s SDS (Safety Data Sheet) data base and may be accessed through the hospital’s Intranet site (Employee Tools/SDS Access). A copy of the SDS data base can also be found at the hospital switchboard, saved on a disc.
