Job summary

University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill’s Adams School of Dentistry seeks a Lead Laboratory Technologist to manage day-to-day infection control lab services within the Oral Microbiology Laboratory. You will coordinate sterilizer monitoring and dental unit waterline testing, while supervising staff and ensuring accuracy and safety in all procedures.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, CLIA compliance where applicable, and proven leadership in microbiology settings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in medical technology, chemistry, or a biological science; or equivalent training/experience.
• Compliance with CLIA regulations may be required for some positions.
• Experience leading laboratory staff and overseeing microbiological procedures.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day infection control laboratory services for the OML.
• Coordinate sterilizer monitoring and dental unit waterline testing programs.
• Supervise assigned staff and students; assign, train, and monitor performance.
• Ensure safety, quality control, and adherence to procedures and documentation.
