Job summary

Altasciences is seeking a Laboratory Specialist II in Overland Park, KS, responsible for processing and managing biological samples from clinical trials while ensuring compliance with study protocol, GCP, and SOPs. The role follows a 6:00am–4:30pm Sunday-Wednesday or 11:00am–7:30pm Monday-Friday schedule, with opportunities to mentor junior staff.

Candidate should have 3–6 years of related experience, strong Excel/Word/Outlook skills, and excellent communication.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; college degree preferred.
• Minimum of 3–6 years of related laboratory experience.
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Ability to interpret technical documents and manuals.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure confidentiality of study participants and sponsors while maintaining high quality.
• Report procedural deviations to supervisory team.
• Understand protocol-driven timed study events (centrifugation, sample handling, storage windows).
• Coordinate with external vendors (shipment couriers, central lab).
• Mentor Laboratory Specialist I team members.
