Job summary

The Turnip Truck Urban Fare (The Gulch) in Nashville, TN is seeking a Kitchen Manager to lead the deli/juice bar operations, oversee displays, labeling, and product prep. You will supervise staff, manage inventory, and ensure health and safety standards across the department.

Responsibilities include coordinating orders, training team members, improving service, and meeting sales and margin goals while delivering high-quality, flavorful offerings for customers.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years' experience in Prepared Food and/or Juice department or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of three (3) year experience supervising teams.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal.
• Experience coaching and developing team members preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversees production, counter, wrapping and packaging responsibilities.
• Ensure department staff provide excellent customer service.
• Review invoices and manage inventory categories.
• Plan attractive prepared foods and displays; keep prices and margins in check.
• Maintain health and safety standards for department meat cutting and handling.
• Cover shifts and manage schedules; assist with training and evaluations.
• Perform weekly and monthly inventories.
• Ensure displays, coolers, freezers, and prep areas are clean and well merchandised.
