Job summary

Yingling Aviation in Wichita, Kansas, is seeking a Lead Mechanic for the 7th shift. You will lead a maintenance crew while remaining hands-on, ensuring safe, efficient work and on-time delivery. You’ll set daily work, mentor technicians, and coordinate with QA, Planning, Engineering and Parts to resolve issues.

You must have FAA A&P, at least 5 years of maintenance experience (King Air or turboprop preferred) and 3 years in a lead role. Excellent communication and problem-solving are essential.

Qualifications

• Valid FAA A&P certificate.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant aircraft maintenance experience, ideally on King Air or other turboprop.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a lead or similar position—crew lead, shift lead, lead mechanic, military NCO or equivalent.
• Hands-on experience on PT6A engines is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate daily maintenance activities on assigned aircraft, while actively performing maintenance, inspection, troubleshooting and repair work yourself.
• Assign tasks and priorities to the technicians and mechanics on your crew based on project schedules and manpower.
• Provide technical guidance, training and mentorship to less experienced technicians and mechanics.
• Ensure all work meets FAA regulations, manufacturer data and company procedures.
• Review discrepancies and estimate labor hours and parts costs for quoting.
• Own manpower and daily scheduling for the crew and manage aircraft flow across crews.
