Job summary

Qualifications

• Experience in coaching athletics.

• Physical ability to perform essential functions.
• Available to work during assigned hours.
• Understanding of district goals for athletic program.
• Knowledge of coaching techniques and student behavior.
• Knowledge of state, district and school board policies and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Coaches individual participants in skills for successful performance.
• Provide a positive learning environment for athletes.
• Plan and schedule regular practice in season per district policy and AIA regulations.
• Manage athlete behavior during training and meets/events.
• Take precautions to protect students, equipment, materials and facilities.
• Assist athletic director with interscholastic contest scheduling where applicable.
• Recommend purchase of equipment, supplies and uniforms as appropriate.
• Maintain records (attendance, insurance, accident reports, etc.).
• Oversee safety of the facility during assigned sport.
• Enforce discipline and sportsmanlike behavior; oversee penalties for breaches.
• Provide team rosters and end-of-year inventory to athletic director.
• Head coach to provide evaluation of coaches as requested.
• Perform other tasks as needed.
• Maintain satisfactory attendance per district policies.
