Job description

Title: Lead Java-Oracle-PLSQL with Flex cube/OBPM

Location: Charlotte, NC (Need Onsite day 1, Hybrid 3 days from office)

Position type: W2 contract

The Role

We are looking for an experienced Java Oracle PLSQL Developer with strong expertise in Oracle FLEXCUBE and/or OBPM (Oracle Banking Payments Module). The ideal candidate will lead development initiatives, own critical integrations, and work closely with business and technical stakeholders to deliver high-quality banking solutions.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end design, development, and implementation of banking applications using Java and Oracle PLSQL.
• Own and drive development related to Oracle FLEXCUBE and/or OBPM modules (customization, interfaces, enhancements).
• Design and develop REST/SOAP services and middleware integrations with core banking systems.
• Provide technical leadership, code reviews, and mentoring to team members.
• Collaborate with business analysts, architects, and QA teams to translate functional requirements into technical solutions.
• Ensure performance optimization, security, and scalability of applications.
• Handle production support, defect analysis, and root-cause resolution for critical issues.
• Participate in architectural discussions and contribute to solution blueprints.
• Prepare technical documentation and support UAT and production deployments.

Requirements

• Strong hands-on experience in Java (Core Java, J2EE, Spring/Spring Boot).
• Advanced knowledge of Oracle PLSQL (procedures, functions, packages, performance tuning).
• Oracle FLEXCUBE and/or OBPM implementation or support experience.
• Strong understanding of core banking processes and payment systems.
• Experience with integration patterns, APIs, and messaging systems.
• Expertise in Unix/Linux, Shell scripting.
• Experience with version control tools (Git, SVN).

Preferred, But Not Required

• Prior experience working with Tier-1 banks or large financial institutions
• FLEXCUBE/OBPM project implementation or major enhancement experience
• Ability to act as a technical lead or onsite coordinator
