Job summary

JPMorganChase is seeking a Lead Software Engineer for the Commercial & Investment Bank - Payment Platform team in Chicago. You will lead a team of engineers, drive architecture decisions, and delivery of secure, scalable market-leading tech products.

You will apply AI-assisted development practices and ensure quality through design artifacts, testing, and performance optimization. The role requires 8+ years in software engineering, strong Java, REST, Spring, Kafka, and cloud experience, plus

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on Software Engineering concepts and 8+ years applied experience.
• Experience leading AI-assisted software development tools with validating AI outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
• Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, data sensitivity, secure handling, resiliency and security.
• Hands-on experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle.
• Advanced understanding of CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security.
• Experience with cloud, AI, machine learning, mobile, etc.
• Ability to tackle design and functionality problems independently with little oversight.
• Proficiency in Java, REST, and microservices, with Kafka.
• Experience with Spring Framework, Spring Boot, and cloud infrastructure.
• Proven record of providing end-user support.
