Qualifications

• Formal training or certification in software engineering with practical, hands-on experience
• Experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
• Building production microservices with Spring Boot and Java (21+), including Virtual Threads and Pattern Matching
• Working with event-driven architectures using Apache Kafka and related tooling
• Building production React SPAs with TypeScript and data-heavy UIs
• Expertise in RESTful API design and microservices architectures (Event-Driven, CQRS)
• Proficient with testing frameworks (JUnit 5, Spring Boot Test, Playwright)
• Experience using AI-assisted software development tools and validating AI outputs

Responsibilities

• Executes creative software solutions, design, development, and debugging with ability to tackle non-routine problems
• Drives architectural decisions for distributed systems including event-driven pipelines
• Develops secure production code and reviews code written by others
• Identifies opportunities to automate remediation to improve stability of applications
• Leads evaluation sessions with vendors and teams to probe architecture and applicability
• Leads communities of practice to promote new technologies
• Fosters a culture of diversity, inclusion, and respect
• Drives adoption of AI-assisted engineering practices with validated standards and reuse of patterns
