Job summary

HTD Talent seeks a hands-on Lead Java Developer to lead a team of senior engineers in a microservices-based environment in Charlotte, NC. You will drive architecture, guide development, and ensure high-quality delivery using Java, Spring Boot, MongoDB, SQL, and OpenShift.

Responsibilities include leading design of scalable microservices, providing technical leadership, and collaborating with product owners, QA, and DevOps for end-to-end delivery.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of Java development experience.
• Strong Spring Boot, microservices, and REST API expertise.
• Deep MongoDB and SQL experience.
• Hands-on OpenShift, Kubernetes, and Docker experience.
• Proven technical leadership experience.
• Strong design, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
• Experience with CI/CD, Git, and Maven/Gradle.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of scalable microservices using Java and Spring Boot.
• Provide technical leadership to senior developers and enforce best practices and coding standards.
• Drive architecture decisions, design reviews, and solution approaches.
• Develop and maintain REST APIs and backend services.
• Use MongoDB and SQL for data design, optimization, and performance tuning.
• Oversee deployment and support in OpenShift/Kubernetes environments.
• Troubleshoot complex production issues across application, data, and platform layers.
• Collaborate with product owners, QA, and DevOps for end-to-end delivery.
• Mentor team members and support engineering excellence.
