Job summary

DroneShield is seeking a Senior IT & Security Engineer to own the Warrenton office's IT operations and security engineering. You will support CMMC/NIST 800-171 control implementation, audit readiness, and end‑user support while coordinating with Sydney-based teams for governance and global initiatives.

This hands‑on, high‑ownership role requires depth in IT operations, security engineering, and compliance, with a focus on risk mitigation and secure system design.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in IT, infrastructure, security‑conscious environments.
• Hands‑on experience in security operations, incident response and control implementation.
• Knowledge of CMMC 2.0 / NIST SP 800‑171 requirements.
• Experience with IAM, EDR, SIEM, MDM/Intune and firewall/VPN management.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with global IT and Security teams to deliver secure IT services for the U.S. office.
• Own local IT service delivery, including ticketing, escalation, and SLA performance.
• Manage identity and access controls across users, devices, and apps.
• Integrate applications into the identity and security stack with modern auth.
• Administer endpoint security controls and device hardening.
• Oversee network security, VPNs, and secure integrations.
• Lead local incident triage and remediation with the Global Security Team.
• Support CMMC/NIST readiness activities and evidence collection.
• Plan and manage the local IT/security budget and vendor services.
