PeerSource is seeking a Lead IT/OT Integration Engineer to drive digital transformation in a northern Cincinnati, OH manufacturing environment. You will design and implement IT/OT integration connecting equipment, SCADA, ERP, MES, and other enterprise systems to enable real-time data visibility.

Lead cross-functional initiatives, coordinate with engineering and IT teams, evaluate technologies, ensure data integrity, security, and regulatory compliance, and mentor junior engineers.

Formación

• 3–6+ years of experience in industrial automation and IT/OT integration within manufacturing.
• Experience with Ignition preferred; other platforms like Rockwell FactoryTalk or Siemens WinCC accepted.
• Strong knowledge of industrial data architecture and interoperability across IT/OT networks.
• Hands-on experience with MQTT, SOAP, REST APIs, XML, JSON and middleware.
• Understanding of cloud vs. on-premise architectures, security, and data integrity.
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field; UNS familiarity is a plus.

PeerSource is currently recruiting for a Lead IT/OT Integration Engineer on a Direct Hire basis. This role is based out the northern Cincinnati, OH metro area.

Summary

The IT/OT Integration Engineer will play a critical role in driving digital transformation and enterprise-wide data integration within an advanced manufacturing environment. This position focuses on developing and expanding IT/OT architecture to connect manufacturing equipment, production systems, and enterprise applications, enabling real-time data visibility and process optimization. The engineer will lead integration initiatives, collaborate across engineering and business teams, and help shape the organization's long-term digital manufacturing strategy.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and implementation of IT/OT integration solutions connecting manufacturing equipment, SCADA platforms, and enterprise applications, including ERP, MES, LIMS, QMS, and CMMS.
• Expand and optimize existing integration architecture to support enterprise-wide data exchange, manufacturing automation, and digital transformation initiatives.
• Develop and implement industrial communication and data integration solutions using APIs, middleware, messaging protocols, and enterprise integration technologies.
• Support the integration of real-time manufacturing, laboratory, and quality data to improve process visibility, traceability, and data-driven decision-making.
• Collaborate with engineering, IT, operations, quality, and business stakeholders to establish integration requirements and drive cross-functional initiatives.
• Develop and maintain integration workflows, data mappings, transformation rules, and digital dashboards to ensure data consistency and accessibility across systems.
• Evaluate and implement technologies that support scalable, secure, and reliable IT/OT infrastructure while maintaining applicable regulatory and data integrity requirements.
• Troubleshoot complex integration issues, optimize system performance, and maintain technical documentation for system architecture, configurations, and processes.
• Coordinate external technology vendors and integration partners, overseeing technical deliverables, project timelines, and implementation activities.

Required Skills

• 3-6+ years of experience in industrial automation, manufacturing systems integration, IT/OT engineering, or enterprise application integration within a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with Ignition strongly preferred; comparable industrial integration platforms will be considered (such as Rockwell FactoryTalk or Siemens WinCC).
• Strong experience with industrial communication protocols, enterprise data transmission, and integration of manufacturing systems across IT/OT networks.
• Experience integrating SCADA, MES, ERP, LIMS, or similar manufacturing and enterprise applications, with an understanding of industrial data architecture and system interoperability.
• Hands-on experience with integration technologies such as MQTT, SOAP, REST APIs, XML, JSON, message queuing, and middleware platforms.
• Strong understanding of cloud versus on-premise architectures, data management, system security, and integration best practices.
• Demonstrated ability to lead technical initiatives, influence cross-functional stakeholders, coordinate external partners, and drive complex integration projects.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Electrical/Controls Engineering, or a related technical discipline ideal.
• Familiarity with Unified Namespace (UNS), data contextualization, pharmaceutical manufacturing, cGMP, or 3D printing technologies is a plus.
